Emily Kay Shrader (EmKay) is a New Yorker of 12 years, lover of sprinkled donuts, purveyor of cozy coffee shops and artist born and raised in sunny Northern California. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with a Musical Theatre minor from Marymount Manhattan College and is a guitar/voice/songwriting/ukulele teacher at New York City Guitar School. EmKay fell in love with singing at the age of three and has loved performing and growing ever since.

EmKay has had the pleasure of working with new musical theatre composers while performing at legendary NYC cabaret venues Feinstein's/54 Below, Joe's Pub, Birdland, The Duplex, and Rockwood Music Hall. She has also had the honor of performing "The National Anthem" for Major League Baseball teams such as the San Francisco Giants, Oakland A's, San Diego Padres, Anaheim Angels and Arizona Diamondbacks. She also enjoys writing and performing her own music, creating quirky covers and connecting with music/theatre-lovers from around the world at YouTube.com/emshrayyy, where she has 3,500+ subscribers and on Instagram @emshray. She also loves providing cozy acoustic music and vocals for proposals, weddings, memorial services, birthdays and any event where music is needed to bring people together.
With Tara Tagliaferro, EmKay co-hosts an all things Wizard of Oz podcast, Down the Yellow Brick Pod, available anywhere you listen to podcasts. You can often find her reading a good novel in the sunshine, biking near the water, traveling to visit family and friends and daydreaming.

Gratitude to my Teachers
I have been so fortunate in my life to learn from incredibly smart, wise, talented, skilled, passionate, and supportive teachers. Voice teachers, dance teachers, musical theatre coaches, acting professors, writers, peers, bosses, students, directors.. the list is never-ending and always growing. Thank you.
To the three women in my life who have taken the time to invest their energy and care into my development as a singer, actress, performer and human being:
Melanee Wyatt, Annette Hutton, and Joyce Hall - I thank you. I look up to you all as teachers, artists and women, and I always feel your encouragement and learning lessons infused into every creative endeavor. Thank you.
